How are Prices at FURN so Good?

Our Philosophy

As lifelong bargain shoppers in an increasingly costly world, we wanted to create a store where the community can find affordable furniture with a friendly atmosphere and no pressure. Realizing just how expensive new furniture can be nowadays, we both decided to quit our jobs and start FURN during covid. When sofas cost upwards of $3000 and take 6 months to ship, it's easy to understand why we are left unsatisfied as consumers. FURN keeps its prices low through a combination of liquidation, hard work, and clever creations.

Most of you are familiar with many of the retail brands we carry (ie. Target, Wayfair, Costco), but how does liquidation make these items so affordable? Liquidation happens in almost every company, occurring when items are returned, when getting rid of overstock, and selling off the last of a discontinued product line. Some brands even have liquidation stores of their own, which is where outlet stores come in. For brands that don't have outlets, however, they sell the products off to stores like us at a steep discount, which gets passed on to you.

Furniture liquidation isn't a novel concept, however, our application of it is unique. After visiting liquidation stores for years, items are usually left boxed, undisplayed, and cause an overall headache when trying to find what you are looking for. To make this business work, we decided some things in the industry had to change. Instead of a warehouse filled with boxes, we curate a showroom of unboxed and staged furniture ranging from mid-century to glam and low to high-end while still retaining the treasure hunt people seek out at liquidation stores!
